The Shire of Chittering welcomed the Bindoon Primary School Student Council on 18 August 2020 to Council Chambers to conduct their Term 3 meeting.
The Shire’s Chief Executive Officer, Matthew Gilfellon welcomed the Councillors and presented each Councillor with their very own name plate.
Appointed Chairperson for meeting, Councillor McAuliffe opened the meeting and invited Mr Gilfellon to address the meeting. Mr Gilfellon welcomed the Councillors to the Chambers and gave a brief presentation on the role of local government councillors, and the role of local government in the community. During the meeting, the Councillors invited Mr Gilfellon to participate in the ‘School of Thought’ radio programme, where he will be interviewed by the Councillors.
The Shire’s Community Development Coordinator (Lisa Kay) and Regulatory & Legal Officer (Jason Russell) will address the Councillors at their final meeting for 2020.
The Shire is grateful for this opportunity to speak to the local student leaders and is looking forward to developing a rewarding civic relationship with the School.
