The Shire of Chittering has resolved to adopt the Cats Local Law 2015 at its meeting held on 28 October 2015.
The purpose of the local law is to provide Council with measures in additional to those under the Cat Act 2011 to control the keeping of cats. The effect of this local law is to control the number of cats that can be kept and the places where cats can be kept.

The Cats Local Law was published in the Government Gazette #185 on 8 December 2015 and will come into operation on Wednesday, 23 December 2015.
